New York hotel problem

Was checking hotel website to see if there was a microwave in the room. Saw a review from disgruntled traveler because breakfast no longer included.  So I called hotel. As of October breakfast no longer included.  But, I said, it was included when I made my reservation.  So they explained we would get a voucher to eat at a restaurant across the street (same thing happened last time I went to NYC with Kim, Dean and Christine at 3232 Hotel). But when they went to check date I made my reservation they said my reservation had been cancelled. True ... I actually made and cancelled a reservation through Hotels.com because of bait and switch. Then I booked with Travelocity and again the price was higher than it should have been — but Travelocity cancelled it and rebooked me at lower price.  I. The end I called Travelocity for help. Sam told me that I indeed did have a paid reservation. He called the hotel and waited forever on hold to get through and get things straightened out for me.  

In addition to dropping breakfast, the hotel raised their “resort fee” from $19.60 when I booked to $32 per night now.  Again, Sam talked to them and we will be paying the lower amount.

Hopefully all is well with The Hotel @ Fifth Avenue now.
